Dr. Paula Rochon is the Founding Director of the Women’s Age Lab within Women’s College Hospital. She is also a Professor in the Department of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Toronto. In 2015, Dr. Rochon was named the inaugural RTOERO chair in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Toronto and is also Chair of the Canadian Institute of Health Research, Institute of Aging Advisory Board. Dr. Rochon’s expertise as a leading Canadian health services researcher in geriatric medicine is rooted in her clinical work as a geriatrician. Her research aims to support the healthy aging of women across four main pillars: tackling gendered ageism, reimagining aging in place, optimizing drug treatments, and promoting social connectedness. She has published more than 350 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
